Hmmm...

So, I posted a quote below. I have been thinking about it. Does design really have to move you are not? I think it is important that the designs actually do move us. If we are not moved what is the purpose? Isn't there some point in moving the audience to get an idea from the design? If we are trying to sell a product, will the audience not need to be moved enough to purchase the product? These are just a few of the questions running through my head.

Website of the Moment

Lately, I have noticed the J. Crew website. It is very classic, yet there are a few twists. The changing pictures in the middle are beautiful in how they keep the same colors and senses of unity. Here are a few screen caps.

Branding Website

I found this website tonight, and I thought it was very interesting. It shows the changes that companies have recently made to their logos.

Swiss Design

I was struggling the other day with keeping things simple, but not boring. I have a very clean and simple aesthetic, but I also tend to get boring. So, it was mentioned to me to look up some Swiss Design. Here are a few of the pieces that inspired me.

I love the color of this one. The simple moves they have made to make it appear to be moving are also very nice.

This one has a beautiful composition. There is something about the simplistic idea of snowflake combined with the geometric lines that really makes this work beautifully.

This one really just shows how the combination of two text boxes can be simple but not boring. The negative space between the top red letterforms and the lare text boxes is very nice.

My Happy Place

There are many things that make me unhappy. But there are a few things that make me happy no matter the occasion. McDonald's is one of those things that alwasy makes me happy. The fact I can get a full meal for three bucks excites me. Plus, they have really good sweet tea. When I'm down, I go to McDonald's.

Baby Girl

It is only necessary to start my blog with a picture of my baby girl. One of the things that makes me smile no matter what has happened throughout the day.

New Beginnings

So, I have been thinking about starting a blog. I have always wanted to write one. The key use of this blog is to show me, and my creative insticts. In design, we are constantly told to keep a process book. This book is supposed to show us. I can't keep a book, so I have decided to try a blog. Here we go.
